BROWN BACK IN VICTORY LANE!

Just days after making his triumphant return to the top step of the podium at the Perth Motorplex, Matt Brown (Pope Racing) has done it again, this time at the Bunbury Speedway in the fourth round of the Roadline Civil Contractors West Coast Series, proudly presented by Xtreme Bounce Party Hire.

It was a case of the master and the apprentice in the feature lineup, Logan Harris (LSJ Motorsports), who earlier claimed the dash event for the right to start on pole for the twenty lap feature, alongside Brown.

As the race went green the veteran shot out to the lead, a rub of wheels allowing another two youngsters in Isaac Arnold (Cornerstone Racing) and Todd Pages (Pages Motorsport) to race around Harris to slot into second and third respectively.

Brendon Marshman (Opal Finance F500 Racing) was next on the scene, diving underneath Harris to take fourth on the second lap and setting out after the top three.

After a mistake by Marshman, Harris was able to close the gap and get back by Marshman, but it was only momentary as Marshman regained his composure and raced away again.

By this point Brown was clearing out on the field, but a stoppage would negate that lead, bunching the drivers up again for a restart.

Brown got away as Marshman took the opportunity to get by Pages for third and then set his sights on Arnold for second. Again Marshman would peg back the gap but with ten laps complete it all came undone, Marshman spinning to a stop on the back straight and bringing out the yellows.

The race resumed and looked to run to the finish before the red lights came on for Connor Murray who went upside down in turn two.

From here it was a straightforward run to the finish, Brown claiming the feature win ahead of Arnold and Pages.

Teams now have a months break from racing here in WA, with a number of our drivers heading East to take in some of the big shows inching the Australian Formula 500 Title.
